Story:

Since Reunion 1992 Regina

1992… Although attending our first reunion was the highlight of the Western trip, I also benefited by having visitations with Regina area friends, both before and after the reunion days.  Winters were spent in Florida.

1994… Another greatly organized reunion, was attended in Regina.  On this occasion, I enjoyed both the Depot campground facilities and the campground companionship of Troopmates Kusalik, Irvine, and Peterson.

1998-2000… Along with wintering every year in Florida, I enjoyed visits from Troopmates Ken/Muriel Washington, and Dick/Pat Mackey.  I also travelled twice to Western Canada.  During these trips I was mainly hosted by Ken Washington, who organized Troopmate ‘overnight’ campouts at his cottage over the U.S. border, where ‘Ole Poppers’ Cowley, Mackey, Mathewson, Sauder, Kirby, Bourdon, and Washington gathered, to enjoy reminiscence, laughter, and just plain old fun.  I also toured around the sites, visiting Troopmate residences, such as Collis, Sauder, Mitchell, and Washington, and places like Stanley Park, Whistler, etc.  I also enjoyed enroute visits with Carpenter, Kusalik, and Horton.

2000… Two fantastic holiday trips to out Eastern coast, where I much appreciated the accommodation and touring by Troopmate O’Halloran and wife Ann, which led to a gathering termed a ‘mini-reunion,’ since there was coincidental visits along with specific attendance travel, which assembled Troopmates O’Halloran, Bourdon, Washington, Cheavins, Miller, Germain, Horton, Guild, and Carpenter.  O’Halloran graciously organized touring of areas of points of interest, such as lobster fishing and an afternoon Tea with the Governor General at the Provincial Governor House.

2003… Along with other cherished Troopmates, I am not excluded from some of the ‘Golden Years’ and after receiving frightening news of other members’ personal afflictions, I had to deal with my own diagnosis of cancer.  I have had ‘excellent’ medical management for four separate types of cancer journeys.  I am happy to report that my Oncologist advises, so far, she has managed though surgeries, radiation, and other treatments to put the problems ‘in a deep sleep.’  All is well.

I continue to enjoy good contacts with fellow Troopmates, enjoy my family tremendously, most especially 8 of the 12 grandkids who live in our city, and make ‘our place’ here at Twin-Lakes, which is the centre of their activities.  See you at the 2006 reunion.
