Story: 

Keith was born on October 30, 1938 at Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.  He attended schools in Trenton until 1956.  He then worked for Trenton Steel Works (Dosco) and attended Mount Allison University in Saskville, New Brunswick.  On August 19th, 1967 he married Ella Mae Brownlee at The Pas, Manitoba. They are proud parents of boys Darryn and Kyle.

Keith served in the RCMP from June 23, 1958 to October 28, 1988.  Keith performed detachment duties within the then Dauphin Sub Division at Ethelbert, Dauphin, Roblin, Thompson(3 times), Churchill, Ste. Rose du Lac, Swan River (2 times), Lynn Lake, Cranberry Portage, The Pas, and then got transferred south to Steinbach.  In 1974 he was transferred to Criminal Operations (Readers) at headquarters in Winnipeg.  He was a sitting member of the Provincial Advisory Committee on Child Abuse during which time he assisted with the development and implementation of the Provincial Guidelines and the Manitoba Teachers Protocol on Child Abuse.

On October31st, 1988 Keith was hired by the Province of Manitoba as the Chief Provincial Firearms Officer, a position he held until November 1, 1998, at which time he was hired by the Federal Justice Department seconded to the RCMP as their Chief Firearms Officer for Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Nunavut.  Keith retired on January 2nd, 2002.

His civilian endeavors consisted of coaching youth hockey and ball.  He was active in the Masonic order where he was Master 3 times, Khartum Shriners where he attained the rank of Assistant Chief of Staff (3 years) and Chief of Staff (3 years), and a member of the Khartum Provost Corps for over 50 years.  He was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Steinbach Branch #190 where he was president on 7 occasions.  He was awarded a Life Membership.
