Story: 

John grew on the family farms in Raleigh and Harwich Townships in Ontario.  He graduated in 1956, and joined the RCMP April 5, 1956 in Toronto and trained in Regina.  John and Mary were married October 1, 1960.

He was posted to Alberta where he was stationed at Claresholm, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Whitecourt, Evansburg, and Strathmore.  He retired in 1982 and accepted a fraud investigator position with Alberta Family and Social Services.

John retired a second time in October, 1997.  His law enforcement career spanned forty-one years.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the RCMP Veterans Association- Calgary Division.  He was a stamp collector since the age of 12, enjoying travelling, camping, hunting, and fishing.  John and Mary had four children.  They were always very close to their families and loved those large family gatherings John and his wife enjoyed the Troop reunions, after the 1994 first event, they kept in touch with the members until the next reunions and were so happy to see everyone again.  They were both very much loved persons.

John passed away at the age of 80 years at the Foothills Medical Centre March 27, 2018.
