CPL. Yves Joseph Alphonse ANTAYA
REGIMENTAL NO. 36983 TROOP 7 1981/82 - Years of service 1981-2003Born in Sorel, Quebec on September 19, 1956, to parents Jean-Guy Antaya and Louise Hardy. Grew up in St-Joseph de Sorel with two brothers, Christian and Luc.
I knew at an early age that I wanted to become a Mountie. Every month my father would buy me a comic book of my favourite hero, a Mountie named Jim Canada. When I turned 6 years old, my parents bought me a mini Mountie uniform, red serge, blue breeches and stetson, which I wore when I played cowboys and Indians with the neighbourhood kids.
Before joining the RCMP, I worked at the Quebec Iron and Titanium smelter in Sorel from 1975 to 1981. I joined the RCMP on 1981-06-30 and completed my training on 1981-12-21 as part of Troop 7, 1981/82. Upon graduation from Regina, I was transferred to “E” Division where I served until my retirement in 2003.
